Sidi Ifni is a great right hander located south at 2 hour drive south  of Taghazout Morocco, in the heart of the city of Sidi Ifni

The surf spot in Sidi Ifni is in the main beach, and is a great right hander that peals on a boulder beach bottom. The wave of Sidi Ifni has some airs of Trestles (In Morocco), and is an A Frame that breaks out the back, with certainly better rights than lefts.

Behide the harbor of Sidi Ifni Morocco, stands an other great wave, The famous left hander, that all surfers from Sidi Ifni love to surf when the surf is big. Sidi Ifni in its self, is more known for it's main break but this wave is a great shelter when the swell gets big on the coast of Morocco. It is also the same Beach as the wave that was called Tetrapod by Jerome Sahyoune and his friends

Morocco is located in the extreme north of Africa, with 3000 Km of coast line, and 2000 Km of it are on the Atlantic Ocean. All along this coast, you can find a multitude of surf spots, from mellow beach breaks, to grinding barrels.

1- Safi

Safi, the garden, or the head of the cobra as some would call it, is a pure barrel right hander point break. It has been surfed by a hand full of frensh expats living in Morocco in the early 80's, and is today a spot that a lot of pro surfers track on a daily basis. 

Safi is a surf spots located in the city of Safi, with easy access from the top of the hill of SIDI BOUZID. It's a surf spot that only starts working when the big ground swells start to hit the Atlantic coast, and of course is best at low tide, to be able to see the long and top to bottom barrels that made its fame.

2- Anchor Point

Anchor point, Anka, or Madraba is a surf spot located north of the village of Taghazout, and has been a surfing mecca in Morocco for the last 30 years. It was first surfed by a bunch of European and Australian hippy surfers, and has become since then the pelegrimage of every European regukar foter surfer. 

The name of Anchor point came from the old factory right next to it, where the spanish have been fishing for years.

3- The Slab

4- Killer Point

Killer Point Morocco, Killers bay, or Bouiarden as the fisherman call it is a surf spot located north of the village of Taghazout Morocco, right after la source. 

The name killer point comes from the Killer whales that come and swim in this bay in between July and August along the coast of Morocco, and especialy at Killers Bay.

On the good day, killer point is the Moroccan Bells beach, and can offer some of the best surf in Morocco and in the world. I have heard from a friend that Single Fin Uluwatu owner picked up Killer point as one of his best surf spots on earth, WOW.

5- Anza point

Anza has been for many years a little locals secret, due to the fact that it was located in front of Moroccan slambs. Since they fixed the used water evacuation pipe, and have started cleaning this beach, more and more surfers are starting to come to the Moroccan trestles as called it Thiago Camarao, or Fabio Gouveia that called Lineakea, the Hawaiian Point break in Morocco.

It is best at high tide, but can also break at other tides depending on wave size. Try it out!!

Mirleft is a little fisherman village located 150 km south of Agadir, that has been the seen of many resistance during the French and Spanish occupation of Morocco since 1912.

It has been developed around fishing, a summer destination for a lot of Moroccan expats in Europe. Nowadays, surfing is starting to become one of the factors of devellopement of the area, already 1 surf school, and a really nice surf camp located 3 km north of Mileft: Aftas Trip.

The surf spots around mirleft are mainly beach breaks, but some amazing point breaks are to discover in some of the hidden coves around the area.  That is the reason why Jeff Hackman, the co founder of quicksilver and the amazing Australian multibilionair surfer settled in this region. Tan-tan Morocco: The location

Tan-Tan is a city located south of Morocco, in an area near to the Western Sahara, that is actualy under the Moroccan governement (lets leave politics aside). It's a city that has as a main economical activity, the fishing, just like all the rest of this region of south Morocco, that arrives till Lgouira south.

The surfing in Tan-Tan is located in Tan-Tan plage and some surrounding spots. The Tan-Tan surf scene exists, but have a huge problem of lake of equipement becose they are no surf shops in town and no tourists that come to surf the area and leave there equipement, just like the surfing started in Taghazout and even before in Mehdia Beach further north of Morocco. They are a couple places where you can stay if you are visiting the city of Tan-Tan. There is a surf club in this little town of south Morocco on Elouatia Beach, lead by one of the first Moroccan on the north shore, Echinne, a Moroccan bodyboard legend. Keep an eye on the winds before to go.

A "Killer" Point Break North of Taghazout Morocco

Killer point is a surf spot located north of Anchor point in the north Taghazout area. The name of Killer point comes from Killer whales. During the summer months, Killer whales are always around this part of Morocco finding a shelter in the bay of Cap Ghir to rest from there long journeys.

The killers whales when cruising in the bay of cap ghir usualy come very close to the shore and they are usualy seen from the Anchor point apartments and from the Killer point apartments by there guests.

These Killer whales are never around after the month of August in general. So don't be scared, no Killer whales allert in the area of taghazout yet :), And even with that risk, Killer point is worth the risk. It is a very long point break that breaks with airs of Snappers and Jbay at some other sections, as i also heard that it is the right hander version of Uluwatu, i say, depending in the, it breaks differently. Long and fast barrels, and turn sections make of it a wave where any surfer can start performing his surfing to take it to an other stage

Killer Point Taghazout Morocco works best when the northern ground swells are hitting the Moroccan Atlantic coast. It has often been compared to some of the best point breaks on earth, and it is well holding its name: Killer Point Morocco, a World class point break

Imsouane is a fisherman village located 95 km north of Agadir, that has as a main economical activity fishing, and agriculture. Since few years, it became a famous surfing destination for people aiming to surf during the summer season, and Longboarders. It is a point break on a sandy bottom that breaks on south of the penninsula of Imsouane famous for its 280° of exposure to the sea. It is a wave that break on more that 1km the best days.

Desert Point, The legend!!

In the Taghazout area very famous for the multitude of point breaks along its coast, there a world class right hand point break called: Desert Point. That must ring more than one bell since the best left in the world ( a lot of people say so)  is also called like that. The only difference that they are located in different continents and oceans. One of them is located in Taghazout Morocco and the other one is in Lombok Indonesia

Desert Point Morocco is located north of the Village of Aghrod, hidden under some cliffs. Its right handers can be seen from the road that goes from Agadir To Essaouira, passing by Taghazout, Aourir and Tamri. It is a very good alternative to go to if the spots around Taghazout like Anchor point, Killer point are way too big, then Desert Point has some nice size long pealing right hander waves. 

Desert Point Morocco works best on Low tide, and with a north West Swell.

In 1982, Luc Soutif, a surfeur of Pont blondin( north of Casablanca) now living in Reunion Island (his son Yann Soutif is doing good in the Juniors at the moment) was working in the harbor of Safi. While he was back to Casablanca or receiving friends,he used to show the pictures of the perfect surf to his friends, and inviting them to stop to surf with him this jewel

Going for there yearly trip to Anchor point, Taghazout. Henry EL Grishi et Hakim KARAM are his 2 first friends to stop by in 1984 to surf this magic wave with him. They surfed a consistant 8 ft swell with no one out.

Huge flash of the guys for this wave, they started coming to surf it when ever there was a big swell. They rented the house of a belgian expat, where they used to watch the surf from his garden: The origine of the first name of this wave: The Garden

2005, a magical session

since then, many names and many surfers came to surf this wave, to become in 2002, a national park of surfing inaugurated by the Moroccan king

History of surfing Anchor Point Morocco

The first surfer to have surfed Anchor point was in 1968, a group of young Australians that were travelling in Europe, and took the drive to Morocco to Exlplore its Unknown coast line for the surfers of the world. Since then, the surfing on these fabulous waves of Anchor point was restricted to a small community of travelling surfers till the start of 2001 when first camps started coming to Morocco. nowadays, Taghazout and Moroccan waves and known for there quality world wide. Many points like Anchor point are spread along our coast. Explorers can score if at the right place at the right!!

Morocco is a country, that has been famous all around the world for its endless right hand point breaks. It is very true since the exposure of our coast and the direction of the Atlantic swells that hit the Atlantic north coast of Africa are perfect to produce some incredible right hand points.
